Environmental Protection Specialist

 

Tom Fox is an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety (OPS). He serves as a technical lead, oversees remediation on approximately 65 release sites, and contributes to program efforts including consultant registration, cost guidelines, report formats, staff training and public outreach. Tom earned a master’s degree in geology from Michigan State University. Prior to joining OPS in 2007, he was a petroleum geologist with ARCO, and an environmental consultant on petroleum projects with several companies for twenty years. He has been active with the ITRC LNAPL team since 2015, assisting with both classroom and internet-based training; the High-Resolution Site Characterization Team; and is currently leading a training team emphasizing LNAPL assessment.
