Dr. Rumman Ahmed has a PhD in materials and polymer chemistry from the University of Bristol (UK).
He spent the first 10 years of his career at BASF in various technical and leadership roles, developing next-generation coatings for the automotive OEMS in Germany and Sweden. Later switching gears, he moved to the carbon and chemical additives industry, managing technical and commercial programs for end clients focusing on decarbonization and waste-to-energy.
As Technical Director at Arq, he is responsible for growing the European activated carbon business, which is specifically focused on tackling emerging contaminants such as PFAS and Micropollutants.
