KEVIN HARSHBERGER

R. B. Jergens

Vice President

After graduating Suma Cum Laude from West Virginia University’s College of Civil Engineering, Mr. Harshberger obtained a Master’s Degree in the newly recognized field of Geo-Environmental Engineering. His graduate work focused on the design, construction and operation of waste containment facilities for solid and hazardous wastes.

Following college, Mr. Harshberger has worked exclusively in the waste management and construction industries. He initially worked for the State of West Virginia managing active solid waste projects, reviewing private and public statewide solid waste facilities and working directly with the WVDEP (Department of Environmental Protection) on environmental regulations. After leaving state government, Mr. Harshberger moved to Ohio and worked as a Project Engineer for Waste Management, Inc.

Since leaving Waste Management in 1996, Mr. Harshberger has directly managed more than 100 environmental construction projects for R. B. Jergens Contractors, Inc. His projects include wet ash pond closures, the development of new (greenfield) landfill sites, residual, hazardous and solid waste landfill cells, landfill caps, landfill gas and leachate managements systems, contaminated soil excavation, remediation and disposal, soil stabilization and overall site development.

Mr. Harshberger is directly involved in all aspects of his projects – from project development, to estimating, to scheduling and executing the work. Since 1997, Mr. Harshberger has served as Vice President of R.B. Jergens, where he is the Program Manager for R. B. Jergens’ Specialized Environmental/Earthwork Group. Mr. Harshberger has expanded R.B. Jergens’ geographical footprint – which now covers the Midwest, the South and the Southeastern sections of the U.S.

Kevin has developed an exceptional, technically-proficient, project management and field execution staff that allows R.B. Jergens to tackle the most challenging environmental heavy-civil construction projects. While R.B. Jergens continues to grow, they maintain the detail, quality and attentiveness the company’s clients have come to expect. Under Mr. Harshberger’s guidance, R.B. Jergens’ Specialized Environmental/Earthwork Group has become a recognized leader in the environmental construction industry, particularly related to the management of coal combustion residuals (CCR’s) for the electric generation sector.
