Project Engineer
Brian Younkin is a project engineer at Ellingson-DTD. For the past ten years Dr. Younkin has worked on project development and field management for energy, environmental and water supply horizontal directional drilling projects. Dr. Younkin provided project development support and was active project manager for both the longest single-ended remediation well of record and longest horizontal water wells installed to date. He completes well design and or design review for clients to insure the installed wells meet project goals. Further he works with clients to utilize best practices for horizontal drilling and well installation.
In addition to project management Dr. Younkin conducts research on injection and distribution flow mechanics for horizontal well applications. This research is presented at several conferences. He is also active in training and promoting horizontal well advancements. Dr. Younkin received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining DTD Dr. Younkin taught fluid mechanics and environmental engineering courses at Bucknell University and Penn State University. Dr. Younkin is a registered professional engineer in Delaware.
